‘Remember the world is one great fantasy. It’s just been painted with a thin layer of reality,’ philosophises Valdemar. ‘If you scratch the surface a little, all the fun comes to light.’
My translation of Søren Juhler's Time's Prisoner, Book One in the time travelling adventure trilogy Xana's Story, was featured in Jill!'s celebration of WorldKidLit Month.
Time's Prisoner is seeking a publisher.
‘They are the strangest travel companions. An old man who thinks he can drive, Dante who believes in science, and Storm who believes in Lucy – who doesn’t believe in anything.
Over the next twenty-four hours they will all learn just how wrong they are.’
About the Trilogy — Xana's Story (Time’s Prisoner, Molk’s Revenge & Isa’s Shadow):
Imagine if a time traveller accidentally inspired a power-hungry monk in the Middle Ages to seize the opportunity and go on a journey through time that could make him a new god. And only four people can stop him: Valdemar, an old man who thinks he can drive, Dante who believes in science, and Storm who believes in Lucy – who doesn’t believe in anything. Where and when will the adventure take them?
About the Author
Søren Juhler (he/him) is fairly famous in his Danish homeland as he is “on the news” – reporting it as a journalist, not because he's wanted for something. He has spent over 25 years on the most-watched Danish TV news programme, TV2 News. That has led to a very strong bond with the world of reality as it is reported from thousands of news stories on everything between heaven and earth. Now he’s moving deep down underground and high above the heavens to give free rein to his imagination in a fantasy series for children and young people aged 10–15.
